I began working with clinical populations in 2009 and I have spent most of my career working with adolescents, young adults, and families. My work is deeply informed by principles of attachment theory—including presence, connection, and compassionate boundaries. I have worked in residential and wilderness treatment programs, community mental health, and in private outpatient practice.
I offer a gentle approach to therapy. I will support you in discovering your values and choosing a life for yourself that is resonant with your values. In that pursuit, we will develop skills together to help you stay in contact with the present moment, to be grounded and alert to your experiences, and increasingly resilient in the face of uncomfortable and difficult moments.
For younger children, I can provide parent coaching for effective approaches utilizing the attachment theory model. I have extensive experience working with neurodivergent populations (autism spectrum, ADHD, nonverbal learning disorders, etc.). I have training in using the social thinking model for developing social competence. I am most drawn to the ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) model and use that as the primary framework for my practice.
Treatment focus: attachment disorders, autism/nonverbal learning disorder/social pragmatic communication disorder, OCD, Tourette’s, ADHD, anxiety disorders, depression/suicidal ideation/self-harm, compulsive sexual behavior. My practice is LGBTQ friendly.
Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my two children. As a family we love to explore the beautiful natural spaces around us, we collect and play board games, and we enjoy trying out new recipes in the kitchen.
