Why Mindset Family Therapy?
It is inspiring and humbling to witness the progress of our clients. At times, it’s been nothing short of miraculous. Our job is most rewarding when we see families, couples, and individuals fully engage in treatment and experience their journey back to living a more enriching, value-centered life. We know this is also possible for you.
As someone dear to us once said, “at the end of the day, it all is about the people.” We try to make a difference one client and one family at a time. We’re excited to share with you what we know. We only ask that you come ready to learn and willing to implement what is taught.
We are client-centered therapists trained to use evidence-based practices. We believe that incorporating ACT (Acceptance & Commitment Therapy) is one of the best ways to help get you where you want to be. We are ready to share a wealth of knowledge from leading sources and cutting-edge research from neuroscience, psychology, and related fields.
We take pride in being advocates for greater awareness and better training in the treatment of anxiety and OC spectrum disorders. We feel honored to be presenters at the annual International OCD Foundation Conference for the past five years running. It is a privilege to continue to introduce fresh ideas and exercises in workshops for the national and international OCD community.
We are also honored to be active in the Play Therapy national and international community, with our Clinical Director the former President and current member of the Board of Directors for the Utah Association of Play Therapy. We understand the difficulties parents experience when their children struggle with anxiety, OCD, OC related disorders, depression, or other childhood disorders. We are dedicated to helping our young clients grow more confident in their lives. Our well-stocked, dedicated playroom serves as a child-friendly setting for this effective style of therapy.
We believe that mindfulness is essential in any type of treatment. Mindfulness is a simple, gentle approach that reminds us of the sweetness and relief that can be found in embracing the present. You will learn that instead of trying to control what you are experiencing — you can learn to observe, in a welcoming and non-critical way. As you start to become more accepting and comfortable with your interior landscape, you will start to see and feel things differently.
Ultimately, the goal is to get you out of our clinic and back into your life — independent with a newly acquired toolbox that empowers you to handle whatever storms may come. We invite you to explore our website, and look into the free groups we provide as a service to the community.
