The youngest of seven children whose names all begin with the letter "D," Denita is a native of Washington State but traded the storm clouds of Seattle and relocated to sunny Utah in 1989 to pursue her education and hasn't looked back!
Denita's passion is working with individuals and families to overcome challenges and pursue their best, most confident selves. As a therapist, she finds positive psychology works in harmony with ACT, CBT and other modalities to help individuals overcome obstacles like anxiety, depression, OCD, and other emotional and behavioral concerns.
Denita has been married for 33 years and has raised four children. She began pursuing a career as a mental health counselor after her youngest child started college. Shortly before then, her mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's, one of her children is diagnosed ADHD and another with OCD. She wants to help others who find themselves in uncharted territory, struggling with life transitions, and understanding mental health issues in themselves or others.
You may find Denita singing in her car at a stoplight, traveling, reading, shopping, and playing games with her husband, children, and grandchildren.
